Hi, Is it only your active CD who contributes to your strenght/weakness points come the start of the new season or if you had one or two in reserve, do they also effect the points gained/lost even if they have different strenghts/weaknesses? I know whatever cd's you have active during a season will gain you points the following season depending on how many races you had them active for but I'm just curious about the strenght/weakness bonus with multiple cd's .I have been looking for information on this query by reading over a few of the similar threads but I couldn't find exactly the confirmation I needed. Also, in the case of it being just one cd who benefits the S/W, which I assume it is, when do I need to have them active for the points to apply? Can I switch them during the break or does it have to be before the last race of current season. Tnx in advance for any info.

Only the active CD contributes to the next season car during the end calculations of every race. So each of multiple CDs has to be active for at least one race to contribute one race worth of points for every race active. If you want only one CD working on a car you have to switch CDs during the season break and keep this CD active during all races of the season, but for that there's now a fallback option: During the season break you can leave and rejoin the league, this will delete your current car and give you a new one with the specs as if your currently active CD would have been active developing for all of last season.

Tnx Frank for the info. Would I be right in saying that regardless of research done in the previous season that there's a certain amount of strenght/weakness points allocated to their respective abilities at the start of each season, like a default value based on cd's quality. Like for example if a new player joins a league in rookie and he starts with a cd strength acc / weakness fuel economy. Will there be extra/less points allocated to these abilities regardless of no previous research. Same with a player in pro/elite who say, for example, sign a new cd on season break, would they get a starting buff/debuff on their abilities or is it totally dependent on research in the previous season and how many races you had your cd active for? Sorry for the long-winded question, and tnx a again, really appreciated!

There are no base points and no extra points, buffs or debuffs for signing, firing or exchanging CDs, just the points the active one generates every race towards the next car.

For joining a league during the season break the game generates a car worth a full season of development of the at moment active CD, hence the possible fallback if the car design was screwed up during the previous season. For joining into an ongoing season it's the number of missed races worth of points from the currently active CD for both new car and next car development plus 1-3 points (Rookie-Elite) per missed race to spend, which means an awful car for the already running season but no missed development for the next season car.

I am not entirely sure about what you are asking so not sure if this helps..

I think it is only based on the active CD/CD's in the previous season. In elite you get 2 points per race. +1 point in the CD's strength per race and -1 per race for your CD's weakness IF the cd is max level (same level as your manager level)

So if you use only 1 max level CD (+acc/-fuel) for the entire season and it is 15 races:
2x15= 30 <-- basic number on all stats for the new season.
(2+1)x15= 45 <-- Your starting point in ACC.
(2-1)x15= 15 <-- Your starting pints in Fuel

Leaving and rejoining between seasons (a.k.a. resetting) will create a new car with the same starting points as if you had the current equipped cd during every race in last season. This is also true if a new player joins between seasons in the elite tier. The other tiers have other numbers but works in the same way.

So basically if I leave my league and rejoin next Season and change my CD in the edit screen to strength Acc & Weakness cooling. I’d have an optimal package.??

And then I could still use multiple CD’s for in Season development?

I'd say Acc and Reliability for perfect CD but yes. Set your optimal CD and leave and rejoin during the season break then you'd have an optimal car if one with maxed Acc is your optimal package.

Yes, in season you could optimise research and then repeat to get the Acc car again.

Yes that is absolutely correct. ~~Well, at least if your league only runs 15-16 races in a season. If it is more than 16 races, your CD will generate over the 50 points cap and you will lose some points.~~ Sorry I wasn't up to date.

But yes, that is exactly how you should do it if you don't mind spending the tokens to switch CD's all the time. Use a CD with the strength in what you are researching for the next race, and ignore its weakness (much easier to find such CD's). When the new calendar is released, study the first few upcoming races and see what strength you want on your car. Acc isn't always the right choice if you are thinking about the championship finishing position. People will almost always put their points in acc, so it is free research for you. If the first race is a high handling track and it looks like it is going to rain. I would go with a handling CD when I reset and then use an ACC CD for the first race.

Note that this work as long as you JOIN before the first race. It doesn't matter when you leave. So if the weather is uncertain, wait a bit to have a better picture of what you need.

The 50 point cap in Elite no longer exists. So if your previous season was 22 races and you leave and re-join with a CD strong in acceleration and weak in reliability your car design will reset to:

Acceleration 66 dp
Reliability 22 dp
The remaining design attributes 44 dp.

Another couple of things to consider if you're planning to leave and re-join a league during the break between seasons.

If it's a popular league you should leave and re-join almost as a single operation otherwise the spot you vacated may be filled by another manager.

Far be it from me to tell you how to manage your bank account but remember there's a financial penalty for leaving a league. I'll leave it up to you to think about how you might minimise the cost.

I’m 4 races from level 20 so might be a good idea to leave and start with a fresh slate and design team ready to go for the following season. If I can get away with it. Only ever played in one league.

Well yes, if that's how you think it best to develop your car. Would I choose to leave and re-join or get a better balance by cycling my CDs in the previous season. Who knows?

Would I use all of the big 4 or might another attribute be useful. It depends on the tier. I'm not sure I would recommend leaving and re-joining with a CD +Acc -REL in Rookie because it limits what you can do with suppliers.

There isn't necessarily a "right answer" only opinion derived from experience. The most recent updates threw us a curved ball and I certainly don't believe I've worked out the answers yet.
