Automated/Bot managers?

I'm sorry if this has already been asked/answered elsewhere, but if it has I couldn't find it.

Please could someone explain whether automated or AI-controlled managers are a part of the game?
In my league there is a team that has drivers with extremely low talent and attribute statistics, who always seems to use the game's default race strategies, and who's manager is several levels lower than most other managers in the league.

And yet, they are winning nearly all the races in the season (they did the same last season as well). They also don't respond to league messages or requests to communicate via in-game private messages, never log into a race session, and their actual name seems to be a generic placeholder.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

No, there are no AI-controlled teams. All teams are player managed, however some players are inactive and others just can't make it (in time) to the race. This one must be at least partially managed as the cars must have been repaired at least shortly, else they wouldn't have survived a 100% race in Italy.
I'm sorry to say but if a non managed team of about equal strength on standard strategy wins it usually means everyone else is doing not that well. In Italy a reason was clearly to spot as 24 laps is not only a bit much for the Soft tyres but must've been quite a bit above 60 litres of fuel for that stint, even the 19 laps stint was too much fuel at around 50 litres, or more if your FE is low. That much weight slows the cars considerably. Above 50 litres you're often already faster by just splitting that same distance into 2 stints. As a rule of thumb, if going above 40 litres you should have a good reason behind it to make it worth to pack that kind of weight into the car.

'Bots' are just league hosts' placeholders to get their league featured again or to launch it. I know. I launched a league recently. Let's just say there is now a league called 'Storage league'
