Very slow first lap?

I started 13th today at Japan on ss but on the first lap I set a lap 2.4 seconds slower than a new manager in our league on softs and I went down to 23rd. I was 7.2 seconds off the best first lap. Last time this happened (which was a few weeks ago), I lost 18 positions on the first lap. Is this some sort of bug or something? It prevents me from being remotely competitive if i lose lots of positions on the first lap.

Happened again today at Europe. I started on ss as did about 24 others. I lost 10 positions in the first 2 laps for seemingly no reason. In the first 2 laps of the last 3 races, I have lost a total of 27 positions. Surely that can't be right? 

Happened at Japan today again. Started 19th on softs and lost 6 positions first lap. I was also 1.5 seconds of the second slowest first lap which was done by a car which wasn't set up. 

How much fuel did you have 

120 Litres  and Matt same 

On the first lap? Well there is your problem. To much fuel it adds weight to the car. In f1 more weight = more downforce but more weight = less speed. I forgot weight doesnt equal more down force. But still to much weight.

Thanks for correcting me. Oh and I have never known this as I am still new to this game. Does not putting more fuel in increase pit stop time?
I would assume it does but I'm not sure

yeah so having 120 liters of fuel is useless

Fuel max : 40 litters 
More is too much. 

Tyres : depends of the track but around 30% max.

I didn't have 120 litres. For the first japan race I had 21 and for Europe I had 23. Some people who overtook me were on harder tyres and had more fuel onboard. 

well idk im not a pro this is my first week back from years ago

Me and a few other people in my league have had similar issues, losing as much as 15 positions on lap 1 to people with slower drivers, cars, tires, and more fuel. On one or two occasions even to people who didn't make a strategy or setup. I raced at Hungary today and lost 9 positions, on pl5 for most of the lap but without overheating tires. I was losing out to people who should be slower in terms of car and driver, and they were all within 2 laps of fuel. It's far too random.
