Race strategy: How you do it?

Hi, 

Still struggling with the race strategy and how you can make the best estimated guess of
- The best tyres to pick and why...  
- The most optimal pit stops (taking fuel weight and tyre wear into consideration?) 
- The default push level to set before the race. 

Important notice, I cannot join the live races. 

So I was wondering how you prepare for your races, how you set your strategy and what plays a role in your decision making. 

Curious to hear your thoughts.

For me, 
tyres : depends of temperature and if you want to have a better chance to get a good quali. 

Pitstop : Depends of others people too, never go beyond 30% of your Tyres and 44L. 

Default push : Depends of the track and temperature. Monaco is always +2, Bahrain is always -2 for example. 

If I'm writing some bs, other players far better than me will rewrite what I just said ?

Can you give a bit more information on the tyres you pick on what track temperature? 
An why does a default push of Monaco +2 and Bahrain -2 is the standard? 
Curious to hear your thoughts. 

Monaco is a slow speed track meaning that tyres are harder to warm up so you would add fuel as you will be running higher push levels, this is the opposite for Bahrain as its hotter there and is a high speed track.

Ss works best at very cold temperatures ( always use for every stint at Monaco )
S works best in cool conditions
M for hot conditions
H for very hot conditions ( Don’t use this tyre as you will need lots of fuel to run long distances with it causing you to be ridiculously slow)

For me, this depends track per track plus track temperature can define the choice to make. Might be good to keep track of:

1) track temperature (cause that could affect tyre choice)
2) your picked strategy and did it work
3) strategy the winner of the race used

After a few runs at each track, you should have a good idea of the go to tyre for each track. Keep your notes as with each season, different temps, might alter the winning strategy

If you have last season results from the same tier and league, I would go with the winner's strategy. I don't do 100% races so I'm not exactly sure what works best there, but in 50% and 75%, you should never go over 45 liters of fuel, or have the tire wear go too much under 40% outside of a few cases.

Do you guys also balance your cars for the track you are racing on i.e. I assume you need Acc & Hnd for Monaco but how do you figure it for other tracks ? Thanks for sharing the info above.

I do not have a clue, still a rookie in this game... 
Based on the fact that your car gets a rating for track compatability I would expect that it helps to understand what aspects of the car are important for what kind of track. 
But again, I cannot confirm, nor can I give you more details. 
Hope someone is able to clarify, because it is an interesting question. 

I do to an extent. For instance, at a circuit like spa, if i was choosing between putting my design points on braking or handling, I'd choose handling as there's not many big braking zones at spa. Downforce is helpful at places like spa, suzuka and Silverstone, but downforce isn't as important as the other big stats in my opinion
