I’m just after getting some feedback from other mangers.
We’ve now had a couple of seasons after the update. And considering we are all trying to work out the best way to adapt to it I was wondering.....
Have other mangers found that it’s pushed the game into a 4 stop strategy race for optimal results?
I play in a 100% duration league 2x speed. With a 2 compound rule.
Would love to hear some other experiences from other players.
Best regards.

Hello,
I couldn't see a noticeable difference, but I have an explanation for that ... it may be that there was an increase in strategies 4 pits due to the fuel update. Lighter cars tend to gain advantages.

Or possibly the tyre economy is only half what it was before the update so the tyres wear out more quickly necessitating an extra stop.

I think FE & Tyers has played a big part. As it’s taking over 50% of the season to develop the Big 4. I’ve noticed more players opting for the extra stop to keep Fuel load low. Which seems to be working better than 3. Just an observation.
Even on some tracks that I’ve never seen a 4 stop strategy win.

Yes, the lowered CD development usually means FE starts with 30-40 points into the season, in combination with the range doubling that equals an old FE of 15-20 points, values usually last seen in the Rookie cars and in the range with hugely increased effect. Then during the season the Big4 are able to soak up all points thrown at them, and more, so it's not unusual for FE to remain below the value we used to start into the season (86 points now).
As it's similar with TE tyres also wear faster, thus additionally reducing max stint length and the pace for long stints in their second half just once higher consumption starts to eat well into the extra weight.

I agree Frank, which is why I feel the game will naturally move to 4 stops as preferable strategy and move towards 3 at the end of the season if you can get your FE up.
I do think they should of doubled the supplies points inline with the update. Or maybe have some more options to play with.
Nevertheless it’s interesting to see how players adapt and work around in different ways.
