Hey guys, I have a doubt.

Let's assume I have 10kg fuel when I pit. I then add another 10kg fuel during the pitstop. So, when I come out of the pit, will I have 10kg or 20 kg fuel???

Hello,
If you have 10 litres when entering the pit lane, and your strategy tab says ''10 litres (6.5 laps*)" , you will have 10 litres of fuel when leaving the pit lane.
In the same scenario, if your strategy tab says "20 litres (13 laps*)", you will have 10 litres added, therefore meaning you leave with 20 litres (10 from before you entered + the 10 gained from pitting).

* - These are example lap numbers to make the response easier to understand. Different circuits may use more/less fuel than this.

This is a ***** update that happened around a year ago. You use to have 0.5 of fuel left and if you added 10, you would come out of the pits with 10.5 so you could underfuel and overfuel using more sophisticated strategies. NOW if you go in the pits with 1.2 and add 10. You come out of the pits with 10.

I've been playing this version of the game since it was launched in August 2016 and the pit stop fuelling has always been like it is today.

If you search in forum for "refuelling", you will notice that question was already answered 5 years ago. So, what Ben Doherty allegedly call an update actually never happened.

Slightly different question... but along the same lines.....

the time of your pit is less though right. So in theory if I come into the pits and have 0.5 of fuel left against say 0.1 and on both occasions add 10, the pit where you has 0.5 should be quicker?

Yes Matt it could be quicker, if they have a clean stop!

3.2 seconds took to add 26 litres to a car with 0.1 in the tank
3.3 seconds it took to add 26 litres to a car with 0 in the tank
3.9 seconds to add 34 & 37 litres to a cars with 0.9 in the tank

It would be a good idea to maybe increase the ‘pitstop time’ overall rather than every pit being between like 3-4 secs plus pit lane time, maybe the pit stop time could be between 3-10 seconds depending on fuel, plus then added pit lane time depending on the pit lengths. That way pit stops might become more important as people could underfuel to get an advantage out of the pit. Also might give an indication of a teams fuel level....

Great idea ?

5 litres of fuel per second would seem like a decent number, obviously the first 15 litres would be free with the tyre changing, but 20 litres would be 4 seconds, 40 litres would be 8 seconds. It could encourage people to strategize an extra pit stop at certain circuits and in certain conditions, but at the same time doing this will discourage people from trying to make one less pit stop, which can also be a winning strategy.
