Hi,

is it possible to do a pit stop to get fuel and do not change tyres? If so, how?

Thanks!

Hello,

If you come into the pits, you will get X litres of fuel and new tyres.
You can't come out of the pits on a 'used' set of tyres - however, you can pit for the same tyre type (i.e pitting for a new set of Softs, while already on Soft tyres).

If you wanted to do the entire race on the same set of tyres, you would have to make sure not to pit at all - which would mean having a large amount of fuel in your car at the start of the race (you would need enough fuel to get to the end if the race).

Depends on race distance. Would not do it for a 50 percent or more race. Could potentially do it on hards with 25% race, but may be slower than one-stop. What track were you planning?

You would have to be present, keep PL low, and make sure you don't pit

This is not possible, you must change tyres in every pitstop although you may choose not to re-fuel

Making an amendment on Connor's coment:

You will pump fuel in up to the X amount you had selected on the strategy tab in the live race viewer.
So, if you had 30L coming into the pits and 29L or less in the strategy you won't refuel at all, but will always leave the pit-lane on a brand new set of tyres. Pitting for 22L or less of fuel won't increase your pit time as it will be faster than the 3s the pit-crew takes to change all 4 tyres ?

iGP also doesn't have a maximum amount of tyres you can pit for, so you can use 100 sets for Australia and have a "normal" race without problems even though you can only do up to 5 stints in the pre-race strategy tab.

You can't have the option of no refueling on Offline races though, as it uses the fuel as the value for stint lenghts, not the tyre life ?

Thank you all.

The idea was indeed to get out of the pits with the same tyres (not just the same type), not having to warm up new ones.

@Juanito: your comment was not what I was looking for but indeed very useful! Also a topic I hadn't really clear until now, so thanks a lot
