League's need re-structuring

Hi, I know that the game just got rid of the rookie category, but I think we need to bring it back. Not in the same way though, I think the whole promotion and demotion needs an overhaul.


Right now teams can get to Elite with level 15-18 and they are massively behind everyone else. I myself had to level up my account through an offline league, otherwise it's really no fun and I'm seeing so many people really struggling with it. Hell, I can't be bothered to race with my other 2 accounts that aren't leveled up, it's simply no fun to start a race you know you're going to finish out of points anyways for the next 10 seasons or so. Also I think now people who join in Pro are also struggling to fight for wins, since the front runners are sometimes too high level for them, like level 20-22 or something like that.


Solution: Get rid of demotion entirely and set promotion to be based on the level of your account. So basically Rookie is from level 6 to 15 (something like that, it could be any number you guys think it's better obv)

Then Pro is from 16 to 24.

And elite is from 25 to 30.

I know it gets rid of some of the magic of the game to not be in danger of demotion for example, but if you're that inactive to be in danger, well the host could easily kick you out. This really increases the competition by a lot, allows lower level teams to have a fighting chance and have fun while they level up.

Please don't ignore this problem, I'm seeing so many people complain about this all the time and a huge amount of inactivity is really for this reason.


A second solution could also be community leagues that filter accounts based on their levels. For example have 3 different leagues that in one you can inter as level 6 to 15, then in the next league 16 up to 24 and if you're past that, go to our other league which is 25 to 30.


But I think an official solution would be much better. Anyways, thanks for reading.

Also I think the promotion and demotion adds some spice into the mix and I know of leauges which rely on it.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the idea but, like I said in the beginning, the flaw is when there are full leagues and also I like the fact that you can get demoted.
Maybe a mix of both could be a good thing to think about.

Sorry for late response. I like the demotion system too, but there needs to be a little sacrifice. When leagues go full, people could go and populate other leagues. The lack of numbers would be somewhat solved this way as well. But a lower level team, can not go anywhere else, because almost all of the leagues have a couple of level 30 that makes it impossible to compete.




But also another solution could be made. Give hosts more customization options. Allow them chose between having 2 division or 3, decide if you promote based on level or whoever finishes ahead. Unlike changing the racing side of things, for example dirty air and such, changing how the leagues work would be much easier to implement. More customization makes it easier to tend to each league's needs.

i’m don’t think you’re being realistic here. Managers won’t be happy to be simply told go and populate another league.  They choose a league to race in fir a multitude of reasons and your suggestion just gives them another reason to quit.  


Additionally, there are many reasons the game is failing atm and a big catalyst for the start of this was the introduction of too many customisation options.  Customisation just leads to fragmentation.  A year ago fragmentation and a multitude of customised leagues led to the current situation the game is experiencing

Yet again people miss the point.. your role as a manager is to develop your team, your team has a race target to meet sponsor bonus so why as a lvl 15 for example are you trying to, or whining about, winning or getting to the podium in Elite? (I'm asking in general). Try not scoring enough points so that you don't get promoted, and let the higher level in Pro get promoted instead. Try not scoring points and being demoted to Pro and compete there. Or, as i started with, focus on meeting your race objective which is your primary goal. When you have levelled up then go for the podium, win, and titles. 

I've had lower levels do well in Elite at times, sometimes higher managers run out of fuel or try different tyre strats that don't pan out, the rain comes and they miss the cross over window or are not online at all and the AI goes in too late or too early meaning lower levels can take advantage. People want this game to be like F1 so much they forget how hard Sauber, HAAS and Aston have it right now haha. They have their race targets which is to be better than the other mid to back field teams, they aint fighting McLaren, Mercedes, Ferrari and Redbull right now really are they.

It's a game, you can't compare it with real life F1. In real life they wouldn't allow F2 teams to compete in the same races as the F1 cars.

It was bad enough for new accounts when there were only 20 levels and three tiers. Now there are 30 levels it takes far too long to become competitive.

Most L30 managers spend nothing on the game and without income the game can't survive. Retention of enthusiastic new players is key to the future of iGP. Expecting them to live with being uncompetitive every day for over six months because they're "missing the point" is unrealistic. As for suggesting they intentionally sandbag in order to avoid promotion or get relegated... really?

It's been this way for years. There are too many leagues and too few players. The tendency for the majority to gravitate to "one-car" racing because of the cost imbalance has added to the problem. In two-car, you only need ten active accounts and you have a great racing environment, in one car you need twice as many active players to have well populated grid.

Newcomers are now launched straight into one-car racing as the default format, switching to two car is not encouraged and is cost prohibitive.

I wasn't comparing it to real life F1, what i actually said is that 'people want this game to be like F1..'. ever thought of actually reading before answering? 

You intentionally sandbag by not putting a new engine in, do you wish Jack to change it so you have a fresh engine every race comparable to everyone else? 20 races, 20 engines. Would this help negate your incompetence as a manager?

"Being uncompetitive every day..." uncompetitive in regards to what? Higher levels, or, wait for it.. MEETING THEIR RACE OBJECTIVE, which is what my comment was about. Validate MY comment.
