Good evening,

I recently bought a TD with a Common Design Ability. I'm unsure about how the ability works but from reading the forum I expected to get 1 extra Design Point to be used somehow. Unsure if this meant per race to add after each one or if it affects next season's car. 

Anyway, I just had my first race with them (in reserve) and don't see any mention of extra design points anywhere. Can someone explain to me how the Special Ability is applied?

Edit: I've found out you set the area you want the bonus in the abilities editor, mine is set to acceleration. Does this mean I get 1 DP on Acc after each race automatically?

From what I understood, the TD does not affect how many design points you get per race. It’ll just increase your base stat by 1, 2 or 3 point(s) (depending on the level of your ability). 
you will just get this 1 point extra for as long as you have the TD. You won’t get any more points during the season.

Instead of having 30 acc points at the start of the season your car will have 31. When you sell your TD you go back to 30 (obviously it won’t remove the points you assign through your HQ. So if with HQ points you went from 31 up to 70, you will have 69 after selling the TD). It doesn’t change how many points you get after each race, just the base number.

Think of it as a supplier. It just adds to your base design points. Some of us have 5 TDs with legendary design skill for a total of 15 design points added to the base.

Thanks guys, I get it now. I was expecting something more powerful for that amount of tokens. Glad it only cost me 1.
