I understand your frustration completely, it's totally unacceptable to be dealing with issues like this after 2 weeks. If I look at day 1 vs today though the improvements everywhere are visible already. We will get there. I'm not going to stop until we're adding new features and all enjoying the game again.

I'm working on the tracks right now, trying to understand a few different issues:


  1. Cars braking on the straight - I think I know why this happens, it's trying to stop into its grid slot basically, because it hasn't properly detached from it in the simulator. This is why it keeps happening right before the start/finish line.

  2. Cars doing weird stuff in the pits - this looks related to how wrap points at the start/finish line are handled

  3. An isolated report of one race where cars couldn't race side-by-side, only in a train. I have a suspicion this is related to code which tries to force the cars not to go side by side in the pit lane or in ghost mode, it likely forced the cars to remain stuck on the middle of the road if for some reason they became stuck in ghost mode in that race.



I've just applied a simulator update which should come online from 00:30 UTC or for sprint races from now attempting to fix the 3 issues above.

Hi Jack,
I wanted to ask if there are any plans to make adjustments to the new DP system.

From my point of view, the current system feels unfair. Some managers may choose not to collect their DP during the season and instead save them for the next one. By not claiming the points in the HQ, the DP remain stored in the building, and when a new season starts, they can claim all those points at once and begin with a significantly stronger car.

Do you think it is fair that some managers start a new season with such a big advantage simply because they did not claim their DP earlier?

I believe this goes against one of the core principles the game has always had: at the start of a new season, all managers should begin on equal terms, with the same car, and any differences should be built throughout the season.

I hope this can be reviewed and adjusted to prevent accumulated advantages between seasons.

Hoy en nuestra carrera en Francia volvimos a tener muchas fallas de DRS, daba igual que fueramos en grupo que uno detrás de otro o rueda a rueda, solo llego a funcionar 1 de cada 5 o 7 veces, llegue a estar durante un stint detrás de un compañero con doblados de por medio y sin drs, la lista de tiempos no era acorde con el resultado, ya que podía poner que la vuelta anterior la hicimos uno o dos segundos más rápido que el de delante pero la diferencia seguía siendo igual, la salida de boxes también perdiendo hasta 4 segundos solo en la salida, 3 tokens y mucho tiempo malgastado para que no pudiéramos llevar la estrategia a donde queríamos ya que corrimos como si lloviera sin drs

I've been running a review of the tracks and various remaining bug reports in the simulator tonight and I've made some significant findings.

PIT LANE ISSUES - For the first time I have been able to confirm the presence of the pit issues before generating / exporting tracks, and have captured the issues in the process. Several fixes have been applied.

DRS DETECTION ISSUES - I also investigated DRS and discovered something which could in theory impact the detection point.

I am going to be applying both updates to a test simulator and running some tests shortly, with the aim of rolling out both to the live service tonight.

So hard to play at Hungary in 2D mode at the moment.
Cars speed up and slow down constantly. Cant really determine distance between them.

Pit, Cornering & Starts fixes
Fixes have just been deployed to address the remaining track issues.


  • Cornering speeds corrected everywhere

  • Pit lane glitches solved on Mexico and Abu Dhabi (to my knowledge, will await more data from live as it's always more volatile)

  • Smooth race starts everywhere (previously some tracks would accelerate rapidly or slow suddenly in weird ways, even after recent changes)



This will be live from 16:00 UTC for league races, 15:40 UTC for sprint races.

VIP Subscription purchase issues fixed. I've tested this multiple times on Android and this is also resolved now. The subscription is awarded immediately during the free trial.

2D mode will be getting a lot of love in January, we're going to start work on 'Classic mode', for pure 2D leagues with no W2W racing system, just old school iGP 2D.

From what I've seen in a lot of leagues there is a 16 day break between seasons. Is it an issue or it is a planned break?

No, about to fix these now. It's an error in the season gap calculation. It's been fixed now for new seasons generating but I will manually fix the existing ones.

Jack, I think that many leagues that had shortened seasons this year were using a limited pool of tracks. Next year we'll have access to all the tracks, and I'm afraid there will be many more reports than the 4-5 tracks we're seeing now.

Therefore, I urge you to carefully check all the tracks for any possible anomalies. Apparently, these are the most frustrating things, even more so than any bugs outside of the racing simulation itself.

Many of the players I knew stopped playing during December. Others are trying to postpone upcoming races or skip them altogether, waiting for all the problems to be fixed. I hope that next year the changes to the game won't be so painful. Let them be less complex, but much better prepared than what we had to go through in 2025.

Next year, I wish you don't burn out and always achieve your goals. And that you receive more positive feedback about your game than negative. This game definitely has some potential if, after everything that's happened, people continue to play it for years and even pay money:) It's ironic that I'm writing this in Help & Support, but Happy New Year, Jack and all the players!

A total platform reset with new physics written *after* the launch (to address cars going slow in turns) was never going to be easy. I think ~2 weeks to get a rewrite of a rewrite stable is not bad, for one guy working over Christmas. For many, if you are playing the game it's more "now or never" when it comes to fixes. I understand that, but I'm not at all concerned about the trajectory now. The platform is stabilising and the features will arrive as fast as the fixes did in the last two weeks. It's going to be a very exciting year.

One of the first things we're adding is 'Classic mode', a dedicated 2D-only mode to give that classic iGP feel, which many older managers will appreciate. This also means we'll be devoting a lot of focus on maintaining 2D and improving it.

Nuevo circuito y nuevas Circunstancias, en la carrera de hoy a las 18:00 UTC en mi liga, en la carrera de Silverstone, era un mareo constante de fallas de conexión, esto podríamos sospechar que es nuestro pero la realidad es que todos los jugadores estando conectados desde diferentes países sistemas y internet y etc, todos hemos experimentado un caos total de visión de carrera con fallas en la conexión, perdiendo conexión y volviéndolo a retomar en segundos pero pasadas dos curvas con la misma variación de tiempos entre coche sin explicación alguna, hoy llegué a comprobar que un coche perdió 2 segundos y medio en dos curvas solo con la perdida de conexion, justo en la linea de meta pero en mitad de la carrera y en mitad del stint, de estar después del drs a 1,85 a estar dos posiciones por detrás mía en solo dos curvas y sin gastar kers. Esto pero menos exagerado lo llevo notando desde la actualización perdida significativa del rendimiento sin causa ni justificación pero el patrón de las curvas y de los desajustes del juego, cada carrera es una lotería el ganar

Your race was one on a server that ran out of resources. It makes sense. This should not happen again, and it's not the simulator or network, the server had 0 RAM.

Race start / start line braking
A bug affecting race starts and car behaviour crossing the start line has been fixed this morning. It was introduced yesterday afternoon by a technical fix for the memory leak issue. Now both issues should be resolved by the latest patch to the simulator.

Calendars
League calendars which had duplicate races have been resolved now also. Let me know if any more turn up.

DRS
Today I'll shift my focus to the remaining bugs like DRS indicating it's disabled when it isn't. In the 3D viewer you can see it is still enabled, but in the 2D viewer it's not possible to see that, this makes sense of all the reports saying DRS isn't working. While it's possible for DRS to disable if the car brakes to avoid another car, in most cases right now, it's a display issue in the GUI.

Simulator update
I've just applied a patch to the simulator which should address a few things.


  1. Exess oscillation / weaving - New logic for moving to/from the racing line to prevent the "oscillation" in 3D where cars kept weaving back and forth. This behaviour got introduced by a quick fix for "racing line trains" a few days ago and was relatively new.

  2. DRS "not working" in 2D - This was largely a display issue. DRS no longer disables under braking in the DRS zone to keep it enabled for clarity in 2D viewers - please report if you see any more issues

  3. Track fixes - Spain and Abu Dhabi (again) have been regenerated as a precaution, they had a couple of faulty races today but nothing like days ago

  4. Memory leak & potential phantom braking fix - it was identified that retired cars were potentially remaining in the race calculations and may even have impacted some racing behaviour. This could explain some memory leak scenarios, as it could produce division by zero type errors, and even the weird braking we sometimes saw where cars slammed on the brakes randomly. They could hypothetically have been reacting to a retired car in some cases.

  5. Start/finish gentle phantom braking fix - Also added another fix for intermittent start line braking issues where sometimes the cars would gently use the brakes when changing onto the racing line at the s/f line crossover point

New Windows Patch
A new patch has been released for windows, it will auto download through your launcher.


  • Fixed: Cars drive over the tunnel instead of going through the tunnel in Abu Dhabi

  • Fixed: Britain - tyres fall "through" terrain when putting wheels off-road

  • Enabled the Escape (ESC) key to deselect both active drivers, instantly halting map camera movement or rotation in 2D.

  • Fixed: The arrow keys skip player car if it happens to be in between the switching flow.

  • Fixed: (RET) and PIT text conflict in position column of race panel

  • Fixed: Various glitches during the beginner tutorial

  • Updated water material
