In my league now, in the Elite tier, we have decided to trial an effort to cap our cars for the next season (ok, the season after next as we have 2 races left in the current one as i type) to 80% for the beginning of the season. We're going to organise ourselves so that we all spy on someone different and report back anyone 'breaking' the rule (though at only 1 part, it's possible a 'cheat' will easily be missed if we guess the wrong part to look at).
Now I know that Jack and Andrew can alter a design's % backwards, Jack I believe did this for someone in my league who joined late in one season with a good car, and had a really good car for the following season (something like 90% current and 90% next), and that just didn't make sense that he'd be able to have such a scenario happen, so off his own initiative he asked for the following season's car to be scaled back a touch.
What I want to ask is, is it at all possible to add an option to leagues so that we could set this ourselves? Then anyone that has a car above the season beginning threshold would have their design scaled back?
We're doing this in an effort to a) stop the 100% one season, garbage following season, back to 100% the next yoyo-ing, and b) to try and close things up and make it more consistently competetive at the front.
The idea is that we'd all start with 80% cars for the first race, then we are once again free to go as nuts as we like on development from there.
So after that wall of text, my question once again is, would it be possible to have this as a feature we could set in our league management options? (we only want this rule for elite tier, Rookie and Pro can still go about business in any way they want)
