Question regarding tyres temperatures

Sorry for my english, but there it goes a question:

For Fuel/Engine/Tyres, I have the suppliers with are quite economic regarding tyre temperature/wear per lap.

Then, in my league, there are some top pilots that put SS tyres and their "tyre color" doesn't become red. if I do that, in 2 laps mine tyres are very red and the laps become to be slower. Independent if I put the pilot to "not push".

My question: there are some pilots that can drive better without make the tyres too hot?

Because my car is better than the opponent, my pilot stats are MUCH better than the opponent, but I have to race with S tyres and he with SS (or sometimes, me with M and he with S), and tha'ts enough to keep him on the front.

Always when I try to put the same tyres as him, my tyres become very red in 1 lap, and his tyres are still soft pink.

My pilots: Talent : 20 / Health 100%.
When I do the training, I focus mostly in speed and phisycal (almost 20 in all of them).

That's weird. Are you using the 2D Viewer or Data Viewer? In my experience Data Viewer never shows the exact tyre temperatures.

Most likely your opponents are on the lowest of five push settings, that's pretty much the only way to keep the ss tyres from overheating.

SS on most tracks work only with PushLevel1 (maybe PL2) from start of the stint on. Starting a stint with PL3 or more will give RED SS after 1 Lap - no chance to cool them down.
I only have experience with Donelots an Michigan, if I use PL1 they work fine for the whole stint, at almost every track.

A quick question about SS and S. How much do they vary when it comes to tire life? Say Softs run 10 laps on track X how many laps can SS run?

I'd say 6-7 but I haven't done too many races with the SS. I think 8 will be pushing it.

Yuri's right. The only tracks where this doesn't apply would be Monaco and Hungary. Supers are quiet good around those tracks in terms of tyre wear

That happens pretty much every RACE, and still, SS with PL1 shouldn't be better than S with PL4,

I have tried ss with different suppliers and the better durable tyre will last 8 laps on PL1.
On most tracks that are high deg and lower but not v high deg.

Thiago, S with PL4 also doesn't make sense. Most likely they are never above PL2.

With cold temperatures of 10 degrees C, most likely a 3 stop strategy in 50% races with ss will win and PL1 will do for that. Once the temperature is climbing towards 20 degrees C, you will have reached the tipping point and S with 2 stops will probably be faster in 50% races. But also S will be on PL1 for that.

Roughly said, all tracks except Monaco are PL1 with SS or S. Hungary might get away with PL2 if temperatures are at the low side but that's about it.

Once you want higher push lvl's, think about M tyres but they won't be fast enough to keep up.

As for the lifespan of SS, 6-7 is about right.
