So I've just spent the last few on-and-off wet races wrestling with the advanced settings. Advanced Setup has the power to override a manually selected stop, which can require additional pit stops to correct.
The simplest solution I can see is to disable the advanced setup if the player is attending the race. An alternative would be allowing both wet compounds to be selected at different water levels.
