I’ve just raced in Brazil, right now, and the corners are almost perfect — much better than in the previous races where I was struggling with locking up. Well done. 🤖

All,

I must say, we raced Austria tonight and it was much improved, DRS still being an issue though for all players.

Keep up the good work Jack, you are getting there, hard to do on your own.

Regards

Sean

Thanks guys, I appreciate the positive messages.

I've just re-introduced all the servers back into the live service with fixes now. Fingers crossed this remains stable..

Now I'm going to look into the races that didn't run tonight.

I've identified the cause of legacy leagues ported into the new system not running. It was an odd one - the league history of teams was not being updated to reflect them being "in the new tier" so the game considered the league empty, and thus ignored the race. This should be fixed from the next race, all league histories were repaired on the leagues affected and the season reset script now takes care of this properly.

Man-on-fire.

Let's not forget that this is essentially an indy game with a large player-base and heavy server demands that is still free-to-play. There aren't many racing management browser-based games like it.

I think scope creeping seems to have played a part in this update; W2W alone was a mammoth task to not only get it functioning, but realistic enough for each track. A lot of the other changes I think could have waited... because a lot of the frustration is down to the changes to the leagues, the apparent lack of testing, the lack of any real changelog or detailed guide, and the removal of some free features (customisations).

Had they been phased in, this would be a different situation. But then it's always easy to sit at home criticising.

加油Jack (keep up the good work).

I agree with Dave, the W2W was a massive change by itself. Managers weren’t given enough warning/notice about the league changes. Several things were also released which the community weren’t even told about (HQ changes for example).

If this had been done in a phased way and communicated better the community would not be so frustrated.

Overall I am looking forward to W2W and I understand the league changes and they may be good for the game in the long term. However the extreme driver atrophy and HQ degradation is sucking the fun out of it for me. I’m training my drivers every day and will not break even.

minha liga ainda não foi atualizada para a próxima temporada.
favor analisar qual foi o motivo, os gerentes estão deixando a liga, pois a temporada anterior foi finalizada dia 19, e ainda não temos o calendário para a próxima temporada.

I mentioned this in another thread that I'm open to reducing the atrophy rate. I don't know if 5% is the number, or if anything needs multipliers in single car leagues to even it out, but I'm open to your feedback.

Regarding communication, I do accept your points, they are valid. Communication "around" the update has been better (post-update, answering questions, and if people saw the forum threads, they were in-depth about some of the changes), but many aspects of the update were not properly communicated. The good news is, we won't be doing any updates this comprehensive again, the plan from here is to settle into the new platform, balancing and refining it, and start expanding out features more slowly. It will be easier for me to communicate what is going on without overwhelming everyone going forward.

My immediate concern is stabilising the service and ensuring races all run smoothly, we hit several bottlenecks yesterday that are not fully resolved today. I suspect my whole day will be spent getting the back-end into shape. Going into the new year, I can shift my focus more to front-end experience.

Fair it’s better/less frustrating to have a bad game that’s playable than a good game you can’t play at least in my opinion

Bingo. My instinct is I can get this version of the game as stable as the 2025 version by New Year. Then we can focus on refining everything in the experience, and push forward on the new features that are coming (Chassis Supplier, Offline Leagues, 2D / "Classic" mode, Realistic car setups, Events etc.).

We're going to keep moving forward at a pace that is unlike previous years. With this new platform I've tried to lay a "final foundation" we can build what iGP always had the potential to be on top of.

Raced Turkey last night. And overall physics and cornering seemed ok. Overtaking seemed ok too.

But one thing is that cars that ran out of fuel at or in pitlane would just stop and not refuel. Previously you'd run out of fuel and roll slowly and lose time. But in this case, it was a dead race. I ran out. Another car ran out after me the next stint. And then someone else confirmed that the same thing happened to him this morning.

This also leads into the issue that harder compound tires are incrementally using more fuel. So from ss to hards, each tire is using more fuel regardless of push levels. It should be that the tire compound is irrelevant to fuel usage. But that the harder compound requires more push and subsequently uses more fuel.

I don't think there's a problem with atrophy. The problem is driver training, which is way too slow and takes away 11 health, not 10 like the pit crew. I think there's some kind of bug that's making them train slowly. I have two young drivers, 17 and 18, who in eight races since the update, I've never used them in a race, never missed a training session, and I've only recovered stamina and 3-4% of less than half of their attributes. Two other older drivers, I've recovered nothing.

Yesterday morning the league I’m in raced Singapore, which was absolutely unplayable. After this latest patch, we ran Azerbaijan today and it was significantly better.

There are still issues - turn 1 is like a full speed slingshot into turn 2, exit of 2 and entry to 3 still have some stumble and the pit lane is bugged - 2 cars made pit stops that were several seconds faster than everyone else for no discernible reason. Tires only, as we don’t have refueling on, so stops are always very close. Those cars finished 1-2 of course

Nonetheless it was a significant improvement. You have a lot of work still to do but that was your biggest step in the right direction by far. Keep it up

La liga donde corremos expiró alguien podría decirme qué hacer o con quien ponerme en contacto, paso la fecha indicada y se cerró sola, gracias.                                             The league where we run expired could someone tell me what to do or who to contact, I passed the indicated date and it closed by itself, thank you

Our league raced today at 3 PM UK time and it went much better. Still not quite there. Some bugs, but definitely a move in the right direction.

Bugs we experienced: (GP AUSTRALIA, 15°C, Sunny)

- Randomly some drivers were breaking hard in the straight/across the finish line.

- Some cars were making a "backflip" in the straight aswell according to several managers.

- Compounds were still not performing as expected (still the harder the compound the faster the times at some moment if its lifespan, because of PL weighting too much in favor of pace, a little too much).

- tyres not exactly behaving badly in the cliff (50-60% and below 50% when SS and S, when they should, dramatically).

- Some parts of circuit seemed to be in slow motion and some others FastForward (FF). Not as pronounced as before, but still noticeable.

- DRS is far from perfect, but kind of halfway to become igp2025 DRS version.

Cornering was better, indeed.

Okay, a quick update on the situation with races. I've made huge progress today on stabilising this, but some races were sacrificed on the way to ensure the wider stability of the service.

1) Races that did not start or started then stopped almost immediately: I had to remove these races from the service in order to stabilise it and avoid wider stability issues. I've identified a cause for this and am rolling out the fix now to the live service. This should be resolved going forwards.
2) Races that did not finish: I need to collect more information but am already applying a fix for what I think it is. It may be resolved after my fix, if not, I need more information in this thread: https://igpmanager.com/forum-thread/63782

The Same bugs as yesterday.
Connection problems. The race never ends. My good result is gone.
Jack, why do you not make a break, resolve the basics, before telling something about goals in Future.

Never change a running System!!!

Thank You… Merry christmas

Hi Jack,

Sorry to say our race this evening started but it looked as though the grid was different from the Qualy results. The cars shot off then it crashed. Noone seems able to rejoin now.

Edit for clarity: The race is (or should be) currently live.
