Singapore was 5 parts per car, so the guess was close but in the end both car needed the same number of parts. The car/driver that needed less parts last time was on a different strategy so it was running 1 push level higher most of the time, though.

OK, next race research/spying concentrates on reliability and then the stat gets 10 design points all for itself. So the day after tomorrow at Brazil I'll see if I suddenly need less parts than expected, which is half the number James needs, or not.

12 & 11 in Japan I was well off thinking 8 lol

I notice we've got a quite similar reliability (still 39 here). In hindsight Japan would have been the better choice to do my little test, in Brazil we might have quite close values again.

There is something interesting in my league. Craig Jones (lvl11, design & manufacturing on lvl8) wrote he needs around 20 parts for some races. That amount is way off of anything I'd expected.

Here we go 44 Reliability:

Level 20 14 parts per car 100% Elite, Italy.
Level 20 12 parts per car 100% Elite, Belgium & Japan.
Level 20 11 parts per car 100% Elite, Australia, China, Bahrain, Europe & Brazil.
Level 20 10 parts per car 100% Elite. Malaysia, Spain, Turkey, UK & Germany
Level 20.. 9 parts per car 100% Elite. Hungary & Singapore.
Level 20.. 4 parts per car 100% Elite. Monaco.

Japan, still 39 reliability, was again about half of what you needed: 6 parts per car.

Next race will be 67 reliability, but Brazil isn't ideal. With your 11 parts half is 5.5. Which means a 5 would tell us nothing. Is it 6 it would be about proof that reliability is not what I'm looking for, but it'll need 4, at least for one car, to back up reliability in having an effect here. The problem is even after Craig showed me that the span for possible part needs is wider than I would have expected I'm not sure that the rise from 39 to 67 is enough to get from 5.5 to below 4.5. Any guesses how many parts I'll need tomorrow?

Do we remember this from last season?

I just got my reliability up to 100 for tomorrows race in Brazil. I have lvls 19 design and 17 manufacturing, so I will still be using more parts than someone that has both facilities at the same level. It resulted in 10 parts per car.
This season was 20 design & manufacturing, and only 44 reliability only cost 11 parts.

The only other difference between last season and this season, was the tyres used, I would hate to think using soft tyres(this season) does less damage than hard tyres(last season).

I costs roughly 351 parts per season. but the storage cap is 800.

A buddy isn't producing enough parts to ever reach the storage limit 20x17=340.

If crashes & collisions where to be added to the game. We would need to produce three times our levels.

Crashed car 100 parts in total:
Front wing 15 parts
Sidepods 15 parts
Engine cover 15 parts
Rear wing 10 parts
Monocoque 15 parts
Suspension 15 parts
Gearbox 15 parts

Front wings can be replaced in races anything else takes to long to repair, it's either drive with the damage and be slower or retire the car. The repairs after the race might be scary.

Oh well, 1 part is too little to say anything, could have been the design. Would have thought that it should have been 2-3 parts. Unfortunately Craig hasn't answered my question about his reliability, if it's indeed lower than 5 still then he might have 50%-60% higher part needs than me but more than 8 times lower stats. About doubling could do ~15% then, if that stat works this way, which easily could result in just one part.

I don't think that tyre choice itself would change car damage, but the higher push level harder compounds allow/require could do that.

They have wear set for different distances, next step be setting it for tiers & then reliability.

That's quite possible. The questions I'd like the answers for is if it has an impact now? If it does roughly how much? If not what is making some teams needing more parts then?

Edit: AAaand... 5 parts it is, for both cars. In Brazil. The hard compound strategy (S, H) didn't result in more parts than the soft variant (SS, S, SS) and I didn't think to look at the exact car wear values until the moment after closing that window. Stupid! Me! Now I need some tea, don't think I can find some biscuits though.

It's handy when you can start the new season right back where you left off.

Whole new team landed in Australia today, acclimatizing for tomorrows practice session. V.Petrov & J.Button said they are don't have high exceptions for this season, their views on the car "It's a shame we don't have the Downforce & Murk engine that McLaren had."

Short pause between seasons then. I just noticed that the stat downforce doesn't have any connection to the wing setup. It's just values here with one more is better and the other just a fixed 'best' value depending on track and driver while having little downforce should mean you'll have to somewhat compensate it by going for more wing and have to live with more drag as a result.

Edit: Last seasons car was slightly better but overall it turned out well.

Is there a way to do a nice livery like that without installing an outdated browser?

You dont need to install a browser if it's a windows system, IE can be used.
Linux systems use firefox anyway. Chromebook might be a problem.

I just cover the car in butter, so it can slip through wind easier lol

54 Reliability, no change in Malaysia still 10 parts the same as it was with 44 Reliability.


[EDIT] Need to wait a full 19 days now to try 64 Reliability

I think 3-4 seasons time I will have to start managing parts, playing around with reliability because I not been near it since open beta.
It's definitely not Ronseal, it doesn't do what it says on the tin

I highly doubt I'll get any results today because with 35 points last season and 34 points of this seasons car is just too little difference.

Edit: Australia 5 & 6 parts. A little more than last seasons 5 twice but that's not surprising since design is 1 lvl higher. A bit surprising was that the car using more parts was on the softer compound (car 2 4*SS, car 1 SS,S,S) and thus running 1 less push over about 1/3rd of the race, but was involved in more fighting and used almost all KERS while the other had not much use for it.

Think safe to say wear is the same no matter what the tyre Daniel. Keeps it fair, health loss is the same on any compound.
