Translations

Good news everyone: The translation system is complete and I now just need the translations!

I will be sending out a pm to each of you shortly that have volunteered. If you are the second or third person to post for a language you may not be contacted, I will probably just go to the first person in most cases and then later everyone can revise their translation.

Here is some advice on the context of some words which I think needs clarifying:

• rank - order in a list / ranking of positions
  
• home - home page of website
  
• map - image of circuit
  
• model - model number for a designed component
  
• date - day/month/time that an event is taking place
  
• to - who a mail is addressed to
  
• from - who a mail is sent from
  
• emphasis - design emphasis for compoenents (this season or next season)
  
• type - type of entity on shortlist (driver, staff, sponsor etc.)
  

If you have any others that need clarifying just ask. I will put the translation live tonight and we can begin testing and refining them as each language is added.

EDIT: Btw I understand completely that the translation may be difficult and in some contexts not perfect, but the point of this is mainly to translate headings and key navigation elements only, not to translate the entire contents of every page. This makes it easier to target the translation accuracy and context, whilst providing a way for foreign managers to navigate the interface more naturally.

EDIT2: There is one known issue with the translation system atm, it doesn\'t translate the case of the words correctly. I will be investigating efficient ways to do this soon.

Ok. The language selection box is live, but only three languages actually function at the moment:
English, French and Portuguese (Brazilian).

As you all send the translations I will activate those languages and post the news here. I know they are not perfect translations at the moment, but I\'m sure you will all be vocal if there are mistakes and we will refine them based on feedback. :)

New languages added: Catalan, Danish, Estonian, Spanish, Macedonian and Polish

I\'ve also experienced this and looked in to fixing it before. I couldn\'t find the cause... There seemed to be no consistent link or reason for why this was happening. I have an idea that it\'s because the PHP session expires whilst the page is open, but even that doesn\'t fully explain it. It could theoretically be the spam filter, but that shouldn\'t trigger. It\'s very odd and I want to fix it as soon as I can find the cause.
