Codemasters - F1 Online

I cant belive it mouse racing... Unbelievable!! so sad.  I pray IGP can make this F1 racing all Ive been dreaming of, if not I'll have to use Gpro..

You Guys Have it already, in short Gpro with 2d racing!! I am new here and still getting acquainted to the set up. O really like gpro, but hate the rudeness that come across over there. Afraid to even ask a question without coming off feeling like I'm stupid. Can'T even argue a pont with out getting closed down by getting flamed to death. That very point is half the reason I haven't played there in a while. Although I am going to play some there while I'm learning this site. They run bots and give favoritism to the click group,stuck-up brown nosing pop tarts. mercy you've got me started ... lol srwy.I really like this type of racing, not interested in trying to actually drive a car.Hopefully your group doesn't mind dumb question from time to time. I am fairly vocal and will post any suggestion I come across. Again in short, Gpro with 2d racing every day or at least 5 days a week. Admit when bugs are present or mistakes are made. Some type of $credit$ should be given to Paying players when the problem is within the game. Most of all you have to STOP exploiters/cheaters/flamers ect. Anytime you make something everyone likes online some pop tart is all to willing to tear it up for everyone.Feel free to move this post if necessary to the right location or I can double post, but I think you understand what I I've been dreaming of. =-)

and I hate getting logged out 2 mins.. I hate randoms -ramdoms... such as weather when it rains 3 times during a race if its 90% it better rain; if it is 10% rain I should know when or which part of the race its going to rain. their weather forcast make me cuss.. Yeah I know I am asking for the moon butpatronise me..lol

This is getting a little off topic now. But before we move back on topic, I'll just say that the weather system here is pretty decent (if you excuse the time from things being locked to the beginning of the race :P

the main thing i didnt like about the beta is the fact theres basically no stratagy to racing, another issue i had is idiots ramming you off the road unless theres some drastic changes i doubt ill play it when it leaves beta

I've really been trying to test this more, but it's so difficult. The only way I can drive is with brake assist on, which really limits my speed during the races. Not to mention that the amount of lag during the race can sometimes result in me crashing out, and when this doesn't happen, it will sometimes log me out during the race for no reason.

I thought a big company like Codemasters would be able to do this a little better, but it's just too much for me. What annoys me most is that there isn't any offline mode.

I agree the lack of an offline mode is annoying as it doesn't allow any practise, but overall I quite enjoy it!

I have to say it looks good but i do not like the mouse racing,  It makes it really akward.  I was expecting to be using a keyboard and i am not feeling the over head racing either.  At this rate i will be sticking to iGP and not moving to F1 Online

Its a shame, it seemed for a moment that they were on track but had a flat tire.  =-/
 Mouse racing is so lame.  I-racing is the only way to go for manual/sim racing.  There must be some limitation on infringments on these manager games.

Im sorry codemasters but your closed beta is awfull. Anybody else who has closed beta will know you employ a driver and then drive your self in a realy bad way. When does martin witmarsh say sorry lewis im driving today

I got my invite too, and Its a shame to have all that pretty art/graphic that will go down the drain.

I got a beta invite 3 days ago. I didn't even bother after hearing the feedback in this thread to be honest. Well that, and I don't actually remember signing up to the beta in the first place (I really wasn't ever interested, iGP is enough for me)

NDA has lifted. I can now compile some information about the game.

[*]F1 Online Game has two game modes; Formula One, and Own Team

[*]Formula One allows you to take control of any 3 of 12 teams, the 3 available teams rotate between 12 teams every 15minutes. Racing for each team earns money through objectives. You can permanently unlock a team to gain objectives by paying with 'C-Points'.
[*]Own Team allows you to create a Team with facilities and own car and build up through the quick races and League races.

[*]League Races – These races can be raced once per day, per league. You are assigned to a race randomly with several other competitors and you can only use the components assigned to the league (ie C-Class League allows only C-Class Components). Points system calculates the points gathered from each race, the top 5 places receive league rewards in the form of Ingame Money and Experience.
[*]Quick Races – While you are not racing in Leagues, you can race here to achieve team objectives such as setting the fastest lap etc. Also gaining money and experience.
[*]Time Trial – Some team objectives will require you to set times in the Time Trial. Time Trial is also very useful for practicing on tracks, but the downside is you get no EXP or Money. So until a Leaderboard system is added, you will be better learning in Quick Race as you gain Money and EXP there unless it is a team objective.
[*]Facilities – Facilies available come in Research Center, Factory, Commercial and Race HQ Buildings helps reduce the time to research blueprints for components, reduce costs for components being created and, aswell as improve many other perks that increase race winnings, number of staff and so on. Research facility when upgraded or new building added CAN grant new components to be researched just like any other building. To see which building unlocks what component, look in the component tab.
[*]The Components available are unlocked from classes. You start in the Class U and progress to Class C, B, A and finally S.
[*]C Class offers Engines, Front Wing and Rear Wing upgrades
[*]B Class offers Brakes, Side Pods and Suspension Upgrades aswell as all being upgradable to MKII of any component in the B category.
[*]A Class offers Starting System (KERS), Gearbox and Air-Intake (Engine Cover) and possibly upgradable to MKII or more.
[*]S Class has no new component types unlocked but rather just unlocks S Class components and blueprints. Aswell as potiential MK upgrades.
[*]All teams have immediate access to KERS and DRS.
[*]All own team tracks are raced on NON-F1 Circuits, such as Brooklands in the UK etc.
[*]The controls are easy with click or keyboard to accelerate, brake, KERS, DRS and reset to track. Mouse pointer is used to steer.
[*]Ingame Shop offers faster timers on building and research, such as 15min to 48 hours, temp staff, EXP and Money winning boosters, Permanent F1 Team unlocks, $500k to $10mil to your team bank, and liveries and colours for helmet and car.

Pros – It has what iGP needs, 3D Tracks and cars for races, and a brilliant R&D System which iGP should be getting soon.Cons – No Management Style like iGP, no player to player or community support.

All in all it's a fun game to play, but it doesn't have that iGP funness when it comes to competitivity.
