New "driver push level" system

Is there any way to introduce a system where instead of having push levels from 1-5, you can install decimals or more variables to play around with? Too many tracks where I'm finding one push level isn't enough but the next option higher is too much (say Australia @ 15 degrees if you can't be at the race - 2/5 is way too much for softs, but if you set 1/5 the tyres don't even get up to temperature)

Is it possible to start introducing decimals to this system or not? So you can set say 1.5 / 5 or 2.25 / 5 push level etc? Even a slide bar or something (like the one for design emphasis) where 0 could be on the left and 5 could be all the way to the right, and you just set the bar where you want?

I also think we need a push level lower than 1, if it's possible. We're finding at tracks like Bahrain that hards are just way too slow in comparison to softs, and even on 1/5 push they are overheating towards the end of your stint, even if you leave them on 1/5 from the moment they leave the pits.

Just an idea any way.. I don't know if it's even possible. Bash it all you want if you don't agree but I think it would surely help.

I think I remember this as a suggestion back in beta but I may be wrong.

It seems a good idea and worth more discussion but I have no idea how easy (or difficult) it would be to impliment.

I'm not a fan of it as it basically takes an element out of the game. If it was implemented, I could basically work out what the sweet spot is in a few laps and then leave it on that for the rest of the race. When the sweet spot can't be achieved, it actually makes it a bit more interesting. You have a choice to try and push and potentially burn out or move up the grid. You can try and go for consistency between temperatures and hope that others fade by cooking their tyres too early.

I do agree that the tyre temperatures could do with a little tweaking though - too many tracks require low push levels on softs as they heat up too fast. It would be good if for the high tyre wear tracks there was more of a "medium" compound that could handle a little more pushing on softs. I don't think softs/hards should be even close to even but softs even when hot are still quicker than hards at a handlful of tracks. The opposite could also be done at Monaco - a super soft compound introduced - that heats up quicker and goes faster for shorter stints. Hards are just completely useless at Monaco as they never, ever heat up (well, never have in my races)

Tire Temperatures you say? Yes they need badly rebalanced.
As for pushing, that too needs redesigned.

What we need for orders towards our Drivers are:

• Thermal Tire Orders - Slider Option
  Cool Down Tires | Keep Tires at Current Temperature | Warm Up Tires
  Helps keeping in touch with drivers to tell them to regulate their tire temperatures

  Save Tires | Hold Position | Push Hard
  Using tire management orders your driver will work to reduce tire degradation or to use the tires to full use
  
  
• Fuel Mixture Ratio Orders - Switching Buttons
  Low Fuel Mixture | Normal Fuel Mixture | High Fuel Mixture
  Got extra Fuel? Make use of it, Afraid of running out of fuel? Then save some!
  
  
  
• Special Orders - All Toggle On/Off
  Allow Team Mate to Pass | Save KERS
  These orders will allow you to manage your driver's behaviour, to Attack all out or to save KERS and .
  

I like that idea David, but wouldn't the Thermal Tire and Tire Management orders cancel each other out at times? If I told my driver to cool the tires but also push hard, wouldn't that have the same result as leaving both on normal?

Heating the tires for a lil bit and staying close to the style of driving to reduce heat loss or gain while driving less demanding on the uses of tire grip safely.
You can heat the tires and keep them at that temperature or slowly heat up a bit more or cool down and change your tire degration use.

Lets put it like this

Currently: 20% - Push, Tire temperatures are 20% above optimum. say 40 degrees
You would have push stay at that, tell him to cool his tires down  to 33 degrees.

The driver would lower tire temperature and soon as the temperature is reached, he would continue to push. As his tire temps would again move out of that range, he would focus again on cooling him while still trying to push.

Difficult to explain.

So one deals with a sort of "immediate" concern (what are my tire temps, where do I want them) and the other is a more sweeping thing (do I race conservatively, do I push). I think I get that. Why not add to this certain driver skills that deal with tire management? The better drivers will be able to give you what you want (conserve optimal temperature while pushing), while those less skilled will either bake the tires or underperform.

I believe the technical attributes are suppose to relate to that, but are either really badly tuned or don't work.

I'm pretty sure technical does nothing aye. I mean someone correct me if I'm wrong but I've never noticed any performance gain or different setup from my drivers when I train technical.
