Is there not a way to get a homegrown CD, TD, or DR?  All I seem to be able to do to upgrade is take old geezers someone else is auctioning that usually have non-desirable strengths and/or weaknesses...

The answer is No, there is a driver academy but no staff academy. You could try posting a "Wanted" thread on the marketplace sub forum.

So if no one makes new staff where do the young high level staff come from?  Won’t you eventually get to a point where the only staff high enough level are a year from retirement or something?

Staff are generated. Idk the youngest a staff can be, (maybe 17 like drivers but i haven't seen lower than 33) but there can be one like that at level 20 (very few level 20 CDs out there but still are some), and a 70 year old at level 1

So if there is a limited number of 6 star staff, how do you get one? Ask to buy on Marketplace? And how do people get them in the first place? A guy in my league has a 6 star doctor, but the highest I've even seen in Transfer is a 5 Star.
Same as drivers, some people have drivers with 20 Talent, but I've never seen one in Transfer above 3 Talent?

Hi James and welcome to iGP

The star rating is an indication of the level of the staff member relative to YOUR level. It is not possible to employ a member of staff with more than 5 stars because their level will be higher than your manager level. The highest star rating you will be able to employ is 5 stars.

The Doctor who is employed by your competitor appears to be 6 stars when viewed from your account because you are a lower manager level than your competitor. When your competitor views that same Doctor from his account the star rating will be 5 or below.

Regarding low level Talent 20 drivers... These are usually generated from a high level manager's Youth Academy. You could try posting a "Wanted" on the marketplace subforum or speak directly to the Elite managers in your league.
