Is it ever worth 1 stopping?

Is it ever worth 1 stopping in the dry? It would seem to me that a short race (27 laps) that it would be hard to make up the speed gained stopping twice?

In a short 25% it's a great option. I tried it, but then I moved to league with 100% races... ;)

yes. last race in my league, i was gob smacked.; japan 26 laps high tire wear, one stopped and won. 10 seconds behind the second guy (me)

1-stopper can also be a winning strategy when the weather comes into play

Italy is a great 1 stopper for 50% races.

My next race is  Abu Dhabi 27 laps. 1 stop?

Don't do it man. 1-stop is good in Italy,Malaysia,Suzuka and Bahrain but races such as Hispain, Abu Dhabi or Australia needs 1-stop.

Stupid question... What makes Italy, Malaysia etc good for 1 stop? Less tire wear?

There's so many variables to consider before using a 1 stop strategy. But in a nutshell, yes, there are many great situations where 1 stopping is a better choice.

I agree to Jason... Recently I won in Germany were I was up against teams that were faster than me but somehow won with a 1 stop strategy... The variables that need to be accounted for in order to make a 1 stop strategy work is unmeasurable but you basically need a sheer amount of luck...

I've seen one-stopping work on about half the tracks in the game. I haven't yet figured out every situation where it works on each track where I've seen someone succeed with it, but in my opinion it comes down mostly to the following factors:

[*]Tyre wear
[*]Competitor's strategies

Typically one-stopping is a good idea when it's raining, because the Wet tyres don't hardly wear at all. In my experience you can fully cook them and as long as there's a good bit of water on the track you won't lose pace. It can also help if you tend to qualify in the midfield and have a hard time gaining places over the race when you run a similar strategy to those ahead of you. You sacrifice pace on high fuel but it can get you out of traffic and end up a net gain.

The biggest factors I consider when choosing a 1 stop strategy are..

[*]My design vs my opponents design (higher design for you = even safer to start on hards)
[*]How hot it is (or in some cases how cold it is)
[*]How risky qualifying is for you on softs (EG if you often qualify like 10th/12th on softs, it's probably safer to 1 stop on hards)

Yes, on 50% races (the ones i do), there are a few tracks where 1 stopping is favourable, especially Brazil.

I'm also a fan of 1-stopping (on hards of course) since this can be a good strategy on tracks with high tyre wear and/or where your softs would be quickly overheating otherwise.
You'll lose a couple of seconds in the first laps and after your pitstop, but then you can drive a consistent stint where you will be even faster than the soft-runners when they are nearing their first and second pitstop. Also, if you are in a fight with a 2-stopper the latter will have to overtake you on track, which may be difficult on some tracks.

I won on a 1 stop at Monaco yesterday. I was surprised that everyone else 2 or 3 stopped. I made a 1 stop work comfortably +5 push on softs. Won by 25 secs.
Was also my first ever win so was very happy with that!!

About to have a monaco race myself. 39 laps. default it says best strategy is 2 stopping. Soft, Soft. Soft.
I have Komehome tyres, i think the other guy has one of the most grip tyres.

im going to do a 1 stopper as he is 1 seconds a lap faster then me. im going to qualify on hards then pit for softs. (not many people in our league), or should i qualify on softs and finnish on hards. or even just do a 2 stopper, all on softs.

I was thinking of getting Donlots tyres just for this race, abit more grip, but more tyre wear, but would probably have to 2 stop.

also iv noticed Komehome and Donelots tyres have 16 as a total value, the rest have 15. is this much of a advantage?

Hards are terrible at monaco, 2 stop softs......

1 stopping seems dead after the last update in 50% racing, just sayin
