Car design weaker than expected

Hi,

I have to start a new season (S40) tomorrow but I'm a little bit surprised by my car design. Without suppliers, my total conception is 233 points, while it was 239 points at the start of S39.



Some facts :
- the two conception are based on the same number of races (15)
- my team did not level up during the season (level 20 since few seasons)
- my staff did not change (just used them in different order)
- I have a TD lvl 20 (5 stars) and three CC lvl 19 (2 with 5 stars and 1 with 4.5 stars)
       * CC1 : acceleration / reliability
       * CC2 : braking / reliability
       * CC3 : handling / cooling

I can understand than acceleration/braking/handling/cooling/reliability values are different because it depends on my CC, but how do you explain that points on downforce, fuel and tires are lower than last season ?
If I am right, in "basic area" (other than strength and weakness), we should gain 2 points by race. So I was expecting 30 points instead of 29.

Then, why the total of points is lower than last season  ?

You have a L20 team. Your L20 CD and your two 5 star L19 CDs will generate 3-2-1 dp per race whereas your L19 4.5 star CD will generate a little less.

If your L19 4.5 star CD was active for more races last season than the season before this would account for the lower than expected design.

Here is a table showing the dp yield for various levels of CD over a 15 race season.



Edit: If the +Handling / -Cooling CD is your 4.5 star CD, the fact that you have more dp this season in handling and less in cooling confirms that the 4.5 star CD was active for more races, hence the reason why the other stats have been compromised (he doesn't generate 2 dp for a standard attribute).
