After being VIP for 2 months I have encountered many downsides once you hit level 40 and complete the chassis.
There is no doubt that the VIP provides a boost in experience, engine points and chassis points and you gain an advantage in terms of development time. But what is left once you complete the chassis, the engine and hit level 40?
Being able to race in up to 3 leagues with one account ( this is my main reason to be a VIP, but the rest are all downsides).
- you get 3 tokens per league race, a maximum of 9 per day, that's great you get sponsor money 3 times a day, BUT:
- you have also to pay salaries 3 times a day, even for drivers not racing, you suffer atrophy 3 times a day on all drivers. If you want to be competitive in all 3 leagues, in order to not race with drivers with half health, you must hire more drivers and rotate them.
In the end, there is no benefit, it's just playing the game at "X3" speed, you earn triple the tokens but you have three times the expenses.
Also, I race in 2 1 seater leagues and one 2 seater yet if the engine replenishes when I finished the 1 seater, I only get 10 engines.
I will quit one of the leagues because it is unsustainable. My drivers don't heal fast enough, and hiring another driver would definitely bankrupt me.
Some perks that could be added ( that wouldn't give much of an advantage:
- 1 daily reward for each league you race in ( just making it equal to non vips). Getting 1 daily reward while racing on 3 leagues makes it unfair for vips. The same applies for the donut.
- no atrophy on reserve drivers ( both for VIP and non VIP).
- aging... This I cannot say for certain, but if you race in 3 leagues with the same driver as a vip, are they aging 3 times faster? It should only count the first race of each day towards aging IMHO.
In summary, once you hit level 40, max chassis and max engine, the VIP has no benefits except for the free monthly boost, which I am unsure if it's still bugged.
I think the VIP is good to get up to speed with you account level, engine and chassis, but once that's achieved, the downsides are too many. I truly think if we want players to keep their VIP status past the "late game" something has to be done.
