Hall of fame

In the hall of fame, if you use the \"per race\" filter on the fastest lap, Renato Lipi has a score of 1.09 fastest laps per race, so something is clearly wrong in the calculation!

Also, to clarify, do \"triples\" apply to a single driver, or to a team? The wording doesn\'t clarify, but I\'m assuming the former, otherwise it hasn\'t counted one from the race last night (race ID 613 I think).

yes that is interesting - if you go further down the standings you get to 0.08\'s etc

Well, 0.08 makes sense; that means there have been 2 fastest laps in 25 races, or 4 in 50 etc.

A score of 1.0 would imply fastest lap in every race partaken in (i.e. perfect), so it\'s only the 1.09 that is odd. Of course, if the calculation is being done incorrectly, all of the other values could be wrong too!

So you are saying the values 0.45, 0.33, 0.13 or 0.07 etc makes sense to you?

Sorry maths is not my strong point so will have to agree with people who know what they are talking about :)

What\'s logical to me, is that the \"per race\" filter is effectively normalising for the number of races entered.

So look up most pole positions, and you\'ll see someone with 8 ahead of someone with 7, but the person who has 8 might have done 20 races and the person with 7 only 10. In that case, the per race filter, in my mind, should give the first person a score of 0.4 (=8/20), and the second person 0.7 (=7/10), i.e. it is weighted by number of races.

So 0.45 could be 9 poles in 20 races, 0.33 could be 1 pole in 3 races and so on.

But 1.09 (>1) means that you are averaging more than one fastest lap per race.

It could be that there is some other sort of system in place, but if so I would like to hear what it is as I don\'t understand!

Could be that. If that is the case, I think it would make sense to call it one fastest lap rather than two.
