Changing leagues

just started joined league that time does not suit but will go to the end of season. Can I change league then without cost and do I keep all my data and gains for the next league I join. Thanks

I have half an answer: I know that you can leave a league whose season is over and join another that's pre-season with no penalty, but I'm not sure how the game handles it if you leave a league after its season ends and join a league that's mid-season.
