We are all about to pass to solar time, will we have to reset time of our race according to the new time?
example: In Italy we are now set to GMT+2
Race time: 19:20 (21:20 Italy time)

Do i have to set the new time for Sunday night to 20:20 because of the fact that we will pass to GMT +1 ?

I am not following what the problem is.

You asked if you had to set your race time to 20:20, was told that the system would update automatically, and then stated that the advice was wrong.
But your race will run at 20:20?

My question was, if i have to manually change my setting to have the same race time after the time change...

Different league similar prob, normal start time 6pm GMT now showing 5pm GMT and doesnt change weather i tick or untick Auto Correct daylight savings. Does this mean the host has to change the time of race back to 6pm?

In my league, the start time was 19:30 gmt. This means that during daylight saving time, "British Summer Time", the races start 1 hour later at 20:30 BST. The time relative to GMT does not change. On the league management page it shows the start time & then the offset time. Ours was + 1 hour offset becuase it was BST.

So, we wanted our races to continue starting at 20:30 which meant I had to change the start time from 19:30 GMT to 20:30 GMT.

They are always delivered at 12:00 GMT. We have been at GMT +1 in British Summer time, so they were being delivered 1 hour later.

oh right, i just didnt remember them being at 12pm b4 summer time started i only ever remember them being at 1pm but my memory is not what it was lol :D

Now acorrrding to my schdule page i didnt have to change my time at all. my racees started at 22:40 once 1am gmt came around it was still starting a 6:40 eastern.

Hi good sirs of IGP. Due to recent witchcraft with time we got our races starting 1 hour later in IGP F1 Leauge. I've notice when changing time zone dst settings changes only nitification not countdown, does it mean changes should be made only by leauge creator? If so that is a problem because man not interested in leauge management anymore...

In our league the race starting time was always 1900 CET. Now with the switch from winter to summertime I had to manually adjust the starting time.
1900 CET wintertime was 1800 GMT. With summertime 1900 CET means 1700 GMT. Hope that helps some people.

It seems I have to explain this every time the clocks move anywhere in the world. Just a few weeks ago I was explaining it to people in the USA, who made similar posts when their clocks moved.

iGP doesn't follow any local daylight saving changes, it follows GMT / UTC, which doesn't budge. This provides a consistent and predictable baseline, you can always know where it's going to be in advance. This is because we have an international audience and when the timezone changes for someone in the UK, it hasn't changed for someone in the US, and hasn't changed for someone in Australia and so on and so forth.

The host can assess whether the overwhelming majority of people in their league are in the same timezone and want it moved. Many leagues are a mixed bag and have people from all over the world, and not all their timezones move at the same time.

If the host is inactive send me a PM and we can change the ownership of the league.

Thanks Jack - It might be worth getting the mods to write some advice document that can be posted before there is a British time change. As new people join they won't know the 'rule' (and wont read it anywhere in any instructions). And most others will 'forget' anyway!
Might save a bit of hassle/work in the long run.

We'd have to post it before every timezone change in the world practically, a few weeks ago it caught Americans out, and now its us Brits moving around for BST, which I affectionately refer to as 'B.S.' Time.

I will have to do a bit more research about time changes/time zones. If they all happen roughly about the same time ie Spring/Autumn then it might still be worth it but if they are happening all over, every two months or something, then my suggestion is pointless.

A good idea in theory, but not practical, especially when you consider that when North American and European countries are jumping forward, Australia/New Zealand and many places in the Southern Hemisphere are jumping back. Australian DST ends this weekend, whereas here in California DST started three weeks ago.
