Chief Designer and Technical Director

I have wondered what the difference or benefit is of having a higher leveled member of staff in these fields as supposed to a cheaper lesser level one?  Can anyone advise what the benfit is?

You do not need a Tech Director. That position has not been developed yet. Therefore you should ignore everything they tell you.

A better Chief Designer will develop parts faster. You should get a new one every time you level up
