Hello there,

I'm here today to request a personal verification of my league's Discord server link.

In my league's post over on Forums > Global Forums (English) > Leagues & Events > iGP Liga Máxima de Gerentes there was a link that leads to it's Discord server, it's seems it got removed, probably over legal reasons, anyway, it was stated that any link that might harm the community will be removed, I can garantee my Discord server won't harm the community and would like a verification of the link.

Check the Discord server and let me know if I can improve it. I also would like to be able to write the link again in the post.

Hello,
Discord links are banned on the iGP Manager forum due to it being an external platform. This means that moderators and iGP Staff have no control over what happens in Discord, and therefore it is less safe to the iGP Manager community. iGP Manager does allow leagues to have Discord servers, however these are run at the league host's risk, as anything that happens on them cannot be controlled by iGP Manager star star or volunteers. 


Furthermore I've removed the Discord link from this post for the reasons stated previously. Sorry for any inconvenience, but these are the forum rules.

Hello,

You are free to have the Discord link on your league description and on the league invitation mails etc, but it is forbidden to put the link on the iGP Manager forum.

I undestand, but I really would like to be able though.

You see, my league's Discord server it's intended to not only be used by those who participate in the league, but to advertise other leagues, bring the iGP community even closer by trying to make players communicate more efficiently via Discord.

I understand that the forum has almost the same intention but I think the Discord server would bring so much for the community.

I really would like for you admins to consider.

Hello Lucas,

I considered it in the past and it isn’t viable for so many reasons, I’m going to explain you the few ones I can.



  1. We lose control, moderators or iGP Games Staff can’t guarantee a safe and enjoyable atmosphere.

  2. The software is own by another company, so we can’t customise it in the way our community wants or with the changes we need.

  3. The traffic of users isn’t owned by us and we “send” it to another company that has different interest. This could harm the SEO on browsers.

  4. You can’t link your iGP Manager account to Discord.



I hope you understand all the reasons behind this decision, we investigate carefully all the suggestion and we explore all the possible options. Thank you!

I want to let you know that I understood the reasons.

I also would like to make clear that I don't wish to make any "Official iGP Discord server". My idea is to use my league's Discord server as a "hub" for players from as many different leagues as possible to find with each other easier than what it's current here in the forums. I'm not saying that the forums are bad or anything like that, I think they do work fine and you admins (plus mods) are doing some really good work indeed.

I would like to be able to advertise my league's Discord server via forum since it wouldn't make the player go trough my league to then copy and paste the link (since links don't lead you diretcly by clicking in the league's description) in their browser.

I just withdrew my league's Discord server link over the league's advertisement in the Portuguese forum (you can find it here) and thought to myself whether or not I'll get more influx of players now and I'm afraid the answer is a no, that's just the opposite of what the Discord server's purpose is. I want to help new players there as experient will be able to do something like the game guides in a more interactive than what it's now for example.

I understand why it's hard to do such thing and I, again, understood the reasons, but I don't want to do anything official nor will I claim it's. Thank you!
