The benefit of running multiple CDs used to be an increase in start of season design plus a balanced car.

These benefits were reduced when the season length was increased and then totally negated when the Elite design range was increased to 0-200, the start of season design cap was removed and the CDs were nerfed in March this year.

The benefit of running multiple CDs in the current iteration of the game is that of a slightly more balanced car at the beginning of the season (although suppliers can also be used for this purpose) and the potential to gain a couple of additional research points during the season by switching to a CD with a strength in the area you are researching.

IMHO the wages of multiple CDs outweighs the slight benefits, especially at high levels when each CD could cost you £1m per race. Maybe better managers than me will still recommend multiple CDs (marginal gains etc.) but I do OK with just the one.
