What to do at the start of the season, what in the middle and what at the end?

There is no general rule, it all depends on your car stats compared to the ones of the best cars in the attributes. The basic is lots of evenly spread small gaps favours splitting (to gain through rounding effects) and with large, uneven gaps concentrating is usually better. From there it's optimizing through calculating, planning ahead the following races and weighting the gains in their value for the races at hand.
