Pilot's levels

Hi all. I have a question: if the drivers levels are over the manager's level, does this situation affects the performance? As example, my level is 15 as manager but my drivers returned to level 16 and the stars returned to red. And since, they started to race with a very very bad performance. So I'm thinking if there is a negative correlation if you are not on a paralel level? Appereciate your help, thanks
