3-wide battle feedback

Are you seeing more or less 3-wide battles since May 16th?

An update was rolled out to the service which should reduce the number of 3-wide car battles or the duration at which cars stay 3-wide.

We've had numerous reports over the last few months that this goes on for way too long. Are you seeing any noticeable reduction in this kind of slot-car racing now? I wasn't able to test this attempt at reducing it much before putting it live. The difference is also likely subtle, not a dramatic change. I am trying to avoid dramatic changes when the service is very stable and mostly happy.

Una solución sería dar algo de aire sucio y que los autos que vayan detrás de otro tengan algo de degradación de neumáticos extra o calentamiento extra de neumáticos. Eso cambiaría las estrategias y separaría los autos.

Una solución sería dar algo de aire sucio y que los autos que vayan detrás de otro tengan algo de degradación de neumáticos extra o calentamiento extra de neumáticos. Eso cambiaría las estrategias y separaría los autos.

I will definitely introduce tweaks to this but I'm doing it very carefully because I don't want to make dramatic changes. Ironically, I said everything was stable and then we hit a bug on the hour after that... but it was due to numerous changes to the servers today.


Hopefully things are running smoothly now again and we can just evaluate the simulation changes.

I think the 3 wide situations are more "concluded" after some turns, and that make some interesting chances to squeeze between the pack with the KERS, it's kinda satisfying

¿Seria posible que se avise de cuando realices los cambios de aire sucio / degradacion de neumaticos para poder evaluarlos y poder dar una opinion correcta sabiendo si esta activo o no?.

I've noticed a small improvement since the update. Cars still end up 3-wide occasionally, but they seem to sort themselves out a bit faster instead of staying side-by-side through multiple corners. It makes the racing look more natural without changing the overall balance too much.

I'd keep monitoring it over a few race weekends before making any larger adjustments, but so far this feels like a step in the right direction. Thanks for taking the cautious approach instead of making a huge physics change all at once.
