what i think is the problem that anoy most (on my league) is that its the second time happening. It happened once at the first race of our league and again this time :/.
I can not even spectate races it just says Connecting... where the chat box should be in live timing. I have a race in an hour and 20 minutes, i don't know if it's safe to 5/5 or will it still be down?
we are already extensively working on improving connection stability in the upcoming patch permanently. Please be patient - as you can imagine we are trying our best to permanently improve our system. Many issues like this however are not caused by us, but by providers or connection gateways, which we are already suiting out.
I can very well understand your frustration but must ask you to bear with us and be patient as the upcoming patch is going to fix a lot of things and also bring you interesting new improvements.
I don't mean to sound tedious here but this doesn't answer much as far as upcoming races are concerned. Is this a small bug that is likely to be fixed in the next hour or something that might broken for a few days and/or at this stage no idea what the problem is?
Is there any way we can get a post put on the forums the second it is fixed? Races are going ahead and people setting 5/5 are getting royally screwed over. I understand you can't control the world but it would be nice to be able to prep for races properly EG knowing if we're able to use 5/5 or not .. It makes a huge difference as you know.
Can we get a halt put on all races until this problem is fixed or something? It's not exactly settling making people gamble with their championships and letting races run in the mean time is only going to stir up more trouble.
Usually our developer Andrew takes care of these issues, so i have also just contacted him, i assume he is already working on it, so ASAP you will be recieving an answer here, just like he has previously handled this.
However, since this seems like a bigger issues we might consider putting races on hold, but thats Andrews decision. He will be with you momentarily.
I've stopped the simulator completely now. I'll see what I can do about this and get things going again asap.
I have spent the past week specifically building a new system to stop this problem happening in future. We'll be launching an update to the simulator this week hopefully so this should be the last time something like this happens.
Awesome thanks for the update Andrew. FYI I've just loaded a race this second and although 2D remains unchanged, the chat window appears to be working fine with live timing now.
I've reset the simulator and paused 3 races that were ongoing before the reset. I can reschedule each of these and will work on that next. Quite a number of races ran to completion during the issue that I may not be able to do anything about.
I have a junior team in a league about to start - 1D loads fine and the controls are available to use too. 2D on the other hand no change, just "Connecting...."
