iGP Manager 26: New League System Explained

Jack
I've updated the pricing post with the newly introduced 10% per season up to 50% off discount.

Lvr
It seems to me that farming and lapped cars will increase rather than decrease as promised. Those who don't pay but want to race five days a week won't want to do setup and strategy for the weekend races and won't compete for ranking points for those races. Therefore, I wonder if it would be possible to exclude those who don't setup with a DNS from the race and not award them tokens, this way they will be incentivized to move to a boosted league instead of getting undeserved free tokens by running among those who want to run every day.. Those who can and want to participate every day will continue to be fairly rewarded with tokens (and maybe an extra token if you also enter online during the race), and a points advantage thanks to their results and consistent effort.

This has been suggested a few times, if you don't prepare we could exclude you from the grid, but the kicking will already be quite aggressive.

A manager is automatically kicked if BOTH of the following conditions are met:

  1. Inactivity: They have not logged in for at least 7 days.

  2. Low Participation: They prepared strategies for less than 25% (1/4) of the races in the season.

Who this applies to:

  • Official iGP Leagues: Always enabled.

  • Hosted Leagues: Only if the host has enabled the "Auto-kick" setting.

£10 per season?

£5. I just checked your league, with the 50% discount applied. I've already added it to the code, it'll be good to go at launch. £5 for the top package is the case now for 90% of the people in this thread who were talking about it.

Basically, all of your leagues have 5+ seasons completed, so halve the price if your league has done more than 5 seasons.

Slo
Nice ! Would any existing league qualify for that discount automatically? In every tier or just the gold tier?

Correct. Every league already in the game will be able to receive the discount instantly, no further requirements, every tier.

I won't have much time to respond properly now, I'm in dad mode and looking after my kids, but I'll get back to finer points tomorrow night.

Hi Jack!

I really appreciate your effort to stop farming, but this is not good enough yet.
Based on the conditions that you stated above, it is evident that a player who logs in to their account every 6 days will go unpunished no matter if they are setting up their cars or not.
The "aggressive" approach would have been: no setup -> DNS and zero tokens received.
But I understand this is a game and not a court of law, so I believe it would be more appropriate to make the two conditions 'OR' criteria, instead of 'AND' criteria.
Meeting either one should lead to a kick.
Also, since the official IGP leagues will have standard 15-race season, I suggest increasing the 25% to 33% (5/15 of races, which is an integer number of races).
Last but not least, rules should be the same for everyone, so these conditions should also be applied to the hosted leagues.
Anyway, thank you for your time and good luck tomorrow!

Jack I have a question, when we administrators of our leagues can personalize calendar race from the settings for next seasons? How we can put the new track Zandvoort? Because I see the settings after the update IGP 26 , for make the calendar of the races but there aren't all tracks circuits to put on the calendar for the next season like before the update? 🤷

iGP Leagues joining system is pretty much broke and useless at this point. I understand that this kind of server updates are very tough, and I can understand the approach to the new league system, but this kind of important update must have been released in a better state...

I'm thinking you need VIP to do that otherwise it's just random. I'm not 100% sure on that though.

What will happen to leagues with 1 race per week?

All leagues will be moved into the new schedule of daily races unless the league is boosted to unlock custom schedules.

What do boosts cost? The best value pack is 20 boosts for £9.99. That can buy a whole league 1 season of all features unlocked (including custom season lengths and races). Here's the important part: anyone can contribute boosts, even people outside the league. So, if 10 people all contribute boosts, effectively it only costs each person £1 per season to have a fully boosted league. If you have more than 10 people contributing, the costs become so negligible it's hardly worth mentioning.

There are three tiers of boosts on leagues, the first tier only costs 5 boosts (~£2.50 per season), the second tier is 10 boosts (~£5 per season) and so on. Each boost tier unlocks more features, including stuff like league banners, XP bonuses and more (meaning it negates some of the need for XP boosters, helping to save everyone in the league money). Playing for free on the default cycle may be preferable for most people, but if you want deep customisation, XP bonuses and more that's what the boost system will be for.

Remember, this is just one of the features boosts unlock. There will be more than are currently available and more features added over time. In iGP Manager 26 there will be a screen with a FAQ and comparison of the boost levels and everything explained clearly.

The new model essentially is a money grabbing scheme. Appalling. Any league hosts or members who are unable to spend money will either be kicked or be unable to race anymore in the league they have grown a community in. Sure, the boosts promote unlockable features for your league but these features should be new and exciting, not existing basic features that made up a basic league. Without boosts you are essentially racing the exact same season over and over again?

Hi Paul, the calendars and rules will be dynamic and voted on by the community in the free iGP Leagues and hosted leagues who use that calendar. I will be rolling out this functionality late this week.

I want to address your wider complaint though, and a couple of points of confusion. I do understand what you're saying, and I can see from everyone's reaction that we haven't done nearly enough to justify this change for you yet, even with the promise of future improvements. So, I'm going to be working to add all the league hosting features you want as my main priority in the coming weeks. They will arrive fast, such as offline league systems and greater customisation.

The last thing I will add is there appears to be a bug at the moment where the legacy league discount is not being shown properly, so everyone is assuming the price is double what it will be. I'll fix this shortly. Essentially, if your league has done 5+ seasons the price halves, it drops by 10% per season completed up to 50% off. I will get that fixed within the hour, along with other fixes to the league edit and league create pages.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? I did see this once myself but it resolved after loading 2-3 races. I suspect it is a result of older cached tracks from the previous build you had installed.

Thanks jack, makes abit more sense now. The voting system is completely fair and makes a lot more sense. Also the loyalty bonus for me and my peers that have almost 30 seasons of experience via different accounts is very appealing. Extra customisation options are exciting, and justifies the reasons for boosts to be bought. This is clearer now. I (and many others) would like the comfort that the old game and structure of the old game will be protected whilst also adding new exciting features - like the points structure customisation which I am really excited about. Just about the points customisation, will the points be able to be handed out across the grid so even p20 (or p26 in my leagues case) will be awarded points. That would be very cool. Thanks for your everlasting work.

Paul.

Also, just an edit, will the vote for the calendar be within the league or the wider community. I presume within the league is more practical.

A Unified Ecosystem
iGP Manager 26 unifies all managers into one league structure. Instead of separate Rookie/Pro/Elite divisions and separate languages, everyone races in the same ecosystem and is grouped by skill (XP Level first, Reputation/RXP second) to create fair, competitive grids. The old tier divisions are gone; what matters now is how well you race and develop your team.

Tiers as Access
Tiers now unlock features rather than deciding where you can race: Rookie (Tier 1): Default tier, access to iGP Leagues after 3 tutorial sprint races. Pro (Tier 2): Can join player-hosted leagues. Elite (Tier 3): Can create and host leagues. VIP (Tier 4 - New Subscription): A recurring subscription to automatically unlock all features of other tiers, plus: Race in up to 3 leagues at once. Earn sponsor tokens per league race (no daily limit). Create VIP-only leagues and set minimum tier requirements on a league. AI driver chat and 1 free league boost per month.

Your tier is now effectively your “lanyard” in the paddock, while league matchmaking is purely skill-based. The exception being hosted leagues, where managers can join.

iGP Leagues & Hosted Leagues

iGP Leagues

  • Auto-generated, ranked leagues using skill-based matchmaking

  • Instant join when you select a time slot

  • Synchronized, bi-monthly global seasons (1st & 15th) with ~15 races

Hosted Leagues

  • Player-created, persistent communities

  • Use the same synchronized cycles by default, or go custom with boosts

  • Pro can join, Elite can host

  • Hosts can opt-in to the auto-assignment system if they stay on the default schedule cycle or go closed/private if they have custom season lengths

League Boosts: Community-Powered Premium Features
League Boosts are a new IAP resource that work very much like Discord server boosts: anyone can boost any league from their own inventory to unlock extra features for that league.

Key points

  • Boosts sit in your manager inventory until you allocate them

  • 1 boost = 1 season of support for a league

  • You don’t need to be a member of a league to boost it

  • VIP subscribers get 1 free boost per month

Calendars & Global Cycles
All ranked leagues are synchronized to bi-monthly global cycles (1st and 15th of each month). This:

  • Keeps seasons around ~15 races with daily events

  • Aligns the whole community for future global events

  • Simplifies migration and matchmaking

Boosted leagues with 20+ boosts can optionally switch to custom season lengths and track lists. Those become unranked by design, focusing on community fun and flexibility instead of RXP progression.

1-Car vs 2-Car Leagues: Economy Balancing
To keep operating costs fair across different league formats, iGP Manager 26 adds economy modifiers:

  • 1-car leagues: standard wages, higher repair parts costs (2.0×)

  • 2-car leagues: reduced wages, reduced repair parts costs

These modifiers are shown in the GUI and applied when you sign contracts and repair cars, and are explained in the league info, contract dialogs and repair tooltips. The end result is that both league types offer similar overall running costs, so you can choose based on preference, and 2-car leagues become equally appealing again.

Migration: What Happens to Existing Leagues?
All existing leagues are preserved and moved into the new structure:

  • Hosted leagues keep their ID, host, members and standings

  • Tiers are merged into single unified tier at the end of the current season or split into a second league, depending on the total managers

  • Legacy tiers (rookie, pro, elite) are cleared once the league is migrated

No communities are deleted, and no history is lost. The migration simply reshapes the structure to match the new unified model.

Translation for multilingual leagues
As mentioned above, there are no language restrictions on the new iGP Leagues. In the event that someone is commenting in another language in the league, there is a built-in translate function on their comments on the league wall, like the translate buttons seen on most social media sites. Equally, they can translate your replies.

Joining & Multi-League Play
When you choose a league time slot, iGP Manager 26 immediately:

  • Searches for an existing suitable league based on your RXP and level

  • Places you there instantly if a good match exists

  • Or creates a new iGP league for that slot and drops you straight in

VIP managers can belong to up to three leagues at once, as long as schedules don’t clash. This opens up more racing and more ways to earn rewards, balanced by increased operational costs (contracts, parts, fuel) across those leagues.

Why This Feels Different In-Game

  • You race in a single, global system instead of isolated tier pools

  • Tiers are about what you can do, not who you race against

  • League boosts give communities shared control over premium features and will expand beyond the customisation currently supported while helping to sustain development

  • Calendars are synchronized by default, making it easy for us to build community-wide seasons and events

  • Migration keeps your league identity and history intact while modernizing the structure

We also expect to release a long-awaited community-wide event system in 2026 and to announce several partnerships along the way. This restructuring is a major step in that direction. The new league system is designed to keep grids healthy, competition fair and communities empowered, while giving us a strong foundation for future global events and features.

Hi Jack,

we have a question about my league. We have about 30 managers in Elite, and maybe 20 in Professional.

What will happen to the 20 in Professional when the season ends?

Thank you

Thank you

Because your league has ~50 active managers (30 Elite + 20 Professional), which exceeds the maximum league capacity, the league will split into two separate leagues. The 20 Promanagers will be moved to a newly created league, while the 30 Elite managers will remain in the original league.

Also, just an edit, will the vote for the calendar be within the league or the wider community. I presume within the league is more practical.

It will be community-wide voting in the community page, so the community as a whole determines the next season's calendar, from all leagues using the default calendar. Leagues that use boosts are able to "detach" from the community and do whatever they want.

Again, I'll extend an apology for the quality of the options available at launch. It's hard to explain how thinly spread we were just to get W2W and everything else live as a small team. The good news is now we're live, we will start adding options rapidly. Think of the launch as a foundation, not the finished article. The evolution of iGP Manager 26 is going to be rapid.

Okay, fair enough.

Hopefully the 50% discount for the 10 seasons my league has been active for will be ready soon.

How much boosts will be taken off of the league per season? Because I’m wondering whether to buy the boosts now with 5 races to go until season 10 and risk them being taken off at the start of a new season or buy them next season. But will this mean the calendar won’t be able to be altered for the upcoming season? I have no idea. Maybe I haven’t read the patch notes enough.

Once the boosts are allocated they need to be kept on there until the new season for it to work. If you have crossed any tier threshold that amount will be deducted at the season reset. Eg. allocate 8 and 5 will be deducted (Bronze), if you've allocated 30 then 20 will be deducted (Gold).

The prices are still 9.99 for 20 boosts. I presume that is incorrect and that my league qualifies for the 50% discount. Unless the original boost price was 19.98 for 20 which I doubt.
