iGP Manager 26: New League System Explained

I went back and edited my last post having seen this - per season absoutely makes it manageable as we have roughly 3 seasons per year!


Just to check on the point in my previous post, is the only way to have custom race days the Gold tier?

So, if a league wants to run Monday through Friday, it should pay every three weeks? I preferred when we talked about months...

I take the final comment to mean that the discount would also apply to our league, having been around for 7 years, even though we race less frequently.

That's excellent to hear! Same as a discounted F1 Manager for a better game. I'm glad we've gotten over the confusion and I hope the update is a success. 


I'll keep throwing out fringe ideas to consider if I can think of any and it might be helpful to some - like to one on my last post on the previous page.

My league was created 17 Nov 2018, 8 years on (subsidise away lol) and coming up on the last 3 races of season 51.

As i mentioned earlier i have 3 races to go and i was wondering if that calendar will finish as it is with the league options as they are presently or no? (or just release the update on the 19th which will give you another week to sort more things and do your blog lol)

Hello Jack, following your clarification, I would like to discuss the specific case of my league in relation to this new development, the Intercontinental Series. The Intercontinental Series is a league managed by WhatsApp that includes six leagues within one: F1, F2, F3, F4, F5 and K6 Intercontinental Series, as they are each called in igp. We run 15-day seasons, and we race from Monday to Friday because for the vast majority it is not feasible to race on weekends. This means that we cut seasons to three weeks. With all the information I have given you, if we calculate what we have to spend to be sure we can race from Monday to Friday and not lose a large part of our community (this is the only reason we want to buy IAP, so we don't have to race on those two days), we find that we have to pay £10 x 6 leagues, which is £60 per season. And considering that we run 17 seasons in the 52 weeks of the year, we would have to pay £60 x 17 = £1,020 per year, just to avoid running on weekends. This is absolutely outrageous, especially for our league, which is mainly hosted by a group of Argentinians. £1,020 in Argentina is almost 2,000,000 Argentine pesos. This is absolutely unfeasible for a normal person in Argentina; it's almost like paying 6 months' rent for a house there!

I think that offering discounts based on the total number of leagues, or as you said, based on seniority, is something that should be done. We love this game and would like to continue with our large community. We would also like to contribute to the game as much as we can, but not in a completely exaggerated way that we cannot afford. You are doing an incredible job with the game and I would like to congratulate you on the update, except for this one point, which I think should be reviewed. I think the update is great news, and with it, the game will thrive.

I don't know how to make this, but maybe add an ability to add divisions (if your league is ~80-90% full) into a golden level? It's solved an initial issue + cool QoL update.

After reading everything and seeing the new changes, I can only say that I think a high percentage of players will disappear. League editing falls really short for what we’re being asked to pay. We’re going from paying nothing to paying £10 per season? That’s just not sustainable for most communities.

The idea of boosts per manager to use in leagues is fine, but not everyone will be able to pay just to play. And on top of that, we’d only be paying to edit which days we race, when there could be more customisation options for leagues — like manual promotions and relegations, forming 2- or 4-person teams (which many leagues already do manually), removing rain, or keeping divisions like we have now. For example, a league that currently has Elite and Pro with active people will now have to pay for 2 leagues. Why not just allow two divisions per league, even if they’re not called PRO and ELITE?

I’ve been playing iGP since 2021, and I think this update is the one that will make the most managers quit. I hope you listen to the community and can roll back some of these decisions.

I feel like race days shouldn’t be behind a th boosts. I think cost could manage just fine without it. It may be hard to let go of, but it seems like the only thing people are upset about… not race distances or speed. I would gladly pay 2 dollars a season for that. But times for 20 dollars when I do races everyday (and change days depending on league availability) is something I think shouldn’t be taken. (The broke college student speaks again!) 🤣

My post earlier seems to have been overlooked... but why not just have these (and other hosted) leagues as 'friendly' leagues that don't contribute to HallOfFame, or any other similar global aspect of the game? That way they can continue to run independently - and just allow hosts to choose race dates. Set default options for everything else: distance (50%), duration (2x), tracks (random), fastest laps point (on), tyre rule (on), refuelling (off). These can be changed by using boosts.


It's still a compromise, I'm sure most league hosts would want to be able to toggle at least refuelling and tyre rules, so perhaps there could be a much 'cheaper' boost option for individual rules? Example: unlocking a single rule = £2 per season - I say £2 because there are six customisation options and 6x2 makes the £10 option still viable as a 'bargain price'. I think a lot of people might be willing to pay a small amount to just change tyre/refuelling.

ALTERNATIVELY (or even additionally!):
Allow hosts to apply to manage multiple leagues at discounted additional fees; e.g. the first league is still £10, but each additional league is at £2 for each (Sergio's example would be £20 x 17 = £340. I think these could be granted on a case-by-case basis, and only a few people would be allowed to do it, since this is more open to manipulation (people playing host for others)... so... it has its flaws. But since this is all 'new' revenue... may be that's another compromise?

I would like a suggestion that would be a real improvement that I would value and purchase.

And two suggestions that could bring income to the game even among those who are not conisdering to make purchases.


1. Being able to buy individually a "race manager" who can be previously indicated with what criteria to push in each part of the circuit. So the player can compete well even when offline, or even online but being able to attend to other things. The "race manager" could also make a forecast of the remaining fuel and reduce push/thrust if completion of the race arithmetically became compromised.

It would really be an improvement to the game, it allows those who pay to play comfortably without having an advantage that any willing free player cannot overcome.

Maybe 20 minutes for 20 days a month, manual-controlling the push in the race, could be several hours a month spent there. Which could well replace in exchange for a few euros per month.



2. Be able to watch videos or advertisements daily to access certain "credits" for purchases in game

3. Being able to offer real "Sponsors" who want to promote themselves via game

Nice ! Would any existing league qualify for that discount automatically? In every tier or just the gold tier?

Associated (established) leagues under the one host could be paid for from the main league with an overall control box from the main host rather than individually hosted. I think the calendar control, x amount of days of the week for established leagues should be left alone to be honest, it would just mean defining the longevity and population of (without alts and in-actives) where 6 leagues may have to be cut down to 4, for example. 

You could implement some advertising like ad banners on the league/s that need to be clicked on and opened before getting to the setup or car management tabs, or advertising videos to watch when they log-in for example in lieu of payment other than the main host league.
